im a tennis fan i love watching tennis i have never saw a tennis player with dreads.

so here the story, I was watching a tennis match and they took a break from the current match to show other courts and I saw this player with dreads and I said I never saw a tennis player with dreads, at that moment his appearance is what captured me because I’m a African American with a afro so I related to him and I just thought it was so cool to see a another person of color playing tennis too, and I said why I never seen his matches on tv, well because of his rankings so his matches was never on tv unless it was on center court or he was playing a high rank player but I want to say this no matter what his ranking was his appearance was enough to inspire a whole another group of people of color behind him rather he know or not, so I was watching this interview with him and he told this story which is often familiar regarding African- Americans hair he was asked to cut his hair because the tournament he wanted to play at didn’t think that’s something they wanted to see, that’s a very familiar story to a lot of African Americans hair.

you know what instead of me talking about him, isn’t it so much better when the person speak his own words to us straight from the source, this interview was so good he talks about a lot of things so here is the interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUOq3wL8xy4

but I do wanted to talk little about his style of play, when I first saw a match of his I knew he was different in a good way he was very unorthodox and unconventional he had a spark about him that he captivated every eye on any court he played on he did things his way he play his game his way juice lol that you couldn’t take away from him he was very entertaining to watch, but as I watched some of his matches on YouTube I learned something else about him is that he fought and played every ball and he loved the game of tennis he gave his all out there on the court he played with his heart and soul I really saw that as I was watching some of his matches on YouTube, another thing I noticed too was he played with class, I never saw him break a racquet I never he get mad over losing a point I never seen him do anything unnecessary on the court, so with all of that, thank you for your showmanship and just simply being you and thrilling and wowing the crowd and inspiring people like me and a whole generation after you.
