Now this post is special to me because I made a post about Candace Parker but this woman is the first I ever watch play basketball and cheer on the tv screen lol and became a fan of, on September 20, 2026 was her statue unveiling ceremony and she the first wnba player to ever have a Statue outside of the lakers and sparks arena that is history, it’s so much to say I don’t know where to start or begin this woman was the face of the wnba when the wnba first started so the title is fitting “the first lady” for her, now 30 years later she getting a status next to my favorite player kobe, kinda emotional guys, let’s talk about her game if you wanted to win give the ball to Lisa lol she was a beast she got down on the court they wasn’t no joke they wasn’t no punks lol they was just as tough as the men particularly the men on the laker team lol winning two back to back championships is not easy, the first woman to dunk, I really like how she tell the story of when she was on the 1996 Olympics team her coach made them lift weights and practice everyday on game days and off days the dedication they had was unmatched, speaking of dedication she always talks about how everyday she would hit the gym at 5:30 am then practice, alot of the time what you do off the court matters to what you do on the court and she knew that similar to kobe mamba mentality. She talk about her very first team she was on was her family, family is everything to her basketball comes second when it’s comes to family to her and one I like about ceremonies or interviews you learn things you didn’t know and so one thing I didn’t know I learned was her coach coop gave her the nickname smooth cause he said her game was smooth and if you ever watched her play that name was fitting too, I also wanted to say Lisa had class the way she treated the fans was second to none she was so grateful for the fans she tried to take every picture with a fan sign a autograph anything to let the fans know how much they meant to her. I mean it’s so much she accomplished and so much I can say but it’s only two more things I wanna say the first is it always been this thing about men don’t watch women sports to me those people is sexist and ignorant people, I was young when I was watching Lisa Leslie and now as a male adult I’m still watching women sports. Second thing is her husband said in his speech at the ceremony and I want to mention it too, there are only 10% statues of women in the usa, think about that? And Lisa Leslie got one to add to the list for young people to look at and be inspired and see if she can do it they can do it. That’s what make this accomplishment that more special.
